3 Reasons I Can Start Something New

OK.

1. Shoes

See, I normally always wear a sensible pair of shoes while walking to and from the train, into work. Today I said "Self, just wear your pink and white sandals - you'll be fine." Besides, I had no room in my back pack this morning.

The straps on BOTH shoes decided to give out. On my way to the station. Going home. Don't ask me how I ended up getting on the train, but I did end up having to walk most of the way home from the train IN MY BARE FEET. Nice. Luckily, it's a short walk on side street, and no one had to see the spaz that is me WALKING IN HER BARE FEET on the dirty pavement.

Stupid Nine West shoes.

2. RBC ATM's

Thanks Royal Bank. Thanks so much for dispensing a bill with a chunk ripped out of it! Hey! And you know what?! NO store will accept it!! I can't use it!

And oh hey! Guess what else Royal Bank?! I get to STAND IN LINE at a branch just so I can get you to exchange it for me! Wow! Cool! Because the whole reason for me GOING to an ATM in the first place is because there are NO branches close to work, or home! *clapping hands*

3. Bird poop

Yes. Bird poop. Because at some point between leaving work and going to the ATM where I was dispensed the bum $20 bill, and my walk to the GO station where my sandals disintegrated, a bird crapped on my head.

So. I'm going to look through my stash, find something (oh, that'll be hard) I don't have to wind up into balls and start something new.

Just. Try. To. Stop. Me.

"Nuh-uh, no way I'm gonna try and stop her! Does it look like I wanna argue with Mom?"

(On a happier note - thanks everyone for your wonderful comments on Amphora! Aw, shucks!)

Bridge- Somebody told me once that a bird pooping on you is good luck- but I don't believe it.
Man, a day from hell- you not only deserve to start a new project- you should treat yourself to a purchase-
only a VY enablement will make it better!
Go big or go home!

My Grandmother always says that bad things happen in threes. So at least you got all the bad things done in one day...

Start something new! You deserve it!

Getting pooped on by a bird is good luck! I've heard that too - so this means that your next project will work our perfectly (as long as you case on with the bird poop still in situ).....oh, you washed it out...too bad LOL!

You poor thing! I agree with Lorraine. A purchase is definitely the only way to go. You deserve it.

OMG, I'm sorry to be laughing at a time like this, but ROFLOL! You poor thing! You totally deserve to start a new project after all that.

The amphora is gorgeous!

Not sure what the deal is in Canada, but here in the states (ex-banker speaking) you have to accept a damaged bill as long as at least half of it is present.

Oh, wow. You definitely deserve to start something new, and for you. What'd you pick? :)

Now that is a day that merits a big ol' yarn purchase! Preferably from Europe.

I had a pet bird that loved to crap on me all the time, it seemed just before going to work. I would think I would have luck coming out of the wazoo....
but darn can't really say that. Sorry for laughing at your pain and I also agree you must show us the object of desire started because of this...

Wow, what a crappy day. The only thing I've seen to beat it is one of my daughter's friends' mom, while standing under an upper deck, got peed on by a dog. I think that was worse, but you'll have to judge =) I hope your knitting helps you feel better. The shoes were really pretty....

Okay Bridge, I am trying not to laugh, but, you don't make that easy! I am still holding my side with snorts coming out of my nose - that isn't laughing! No! It isn't!!! And, the bird poop good luck thing was made up by someone's grandmother when her favorite grandchild got bombed, just to make the grandchild feel better! And 9 West? Go with Zeeta or Ecco - not as girlie, but they don't disintegrate! I guess the bottom line here is, go make a huge yarn purchase, buy some new shoes and a hat to save the hair from bird poop! Oh, and pet the kittie too.

I'm not telling you you can't buy something. NO MA'AM. I value my life, thank you. Yes, I'm laughing, not at you mind you, but I am laughing.

OMG! One thing after the other! Heck yeah, you can start something new. I think you can cast on wildly myself.

Barefoot? I'm not even sure I could walk past my driveway barefoot anymore.

Oh. My. Gosh. Noooo, I'm not laughing my butt off here at your pain, really, I wouldn't be doing that! ;) Just a little smile... or an understanding grin... and a lot of nodding... yes, I so know that! ;) Actually, this all could have happened to me too, all at once - my gosh, LOOOL! You poor thing, I do so feel with you! And that saying that bad things always happen in threes seems to be true, no? Now, just wait and see: Good things happen in threes as well, and it's your turn now for the good things, that's for sure!

OMG!! That kind of day would have me in a yarn store buying up everything!
