Whoa!

So, I'm working at home today. I decided at around 11am that I'd have a "wee" snooze, I figured for an hour or so.

Guess what time I woke up?

3:30pm.

I didn't think I was THAT tired! Fibromyalgia can do that to you; your sleep becomes so disturbed and you wake up so fatigued all the time, you soon don't pay it much attention. It becomes a way of life. When you do finally decide on a "snooze" - you then realize how tired your body really was! Yikes! I usually have periods of time where I seem to be in remission, when the aches and pains and fatigue don't seem to affect me as much. Then there are times, like mid-summer, where I get smacked upside the head. Oh well... Heh, no worries about tonight though - I should have noooo problems falling asleep! All this little nap did was catch me up on some long needed zzzzzz's.

Anyway.

I've decided! I think I know which Starmore design I'll be making with the recovered 3-ply Hebridean - "Cicely of York", from Jade's book "A Collector's Item". The colour is "Summer Tide". For those of you with the book, it's pretty much the same colour as the blue example of "Cicely of York" in her book. But, not until I complete Amphora. And I'm going on record here to say that she'll be done by the weekend!

Have you read Lorraine's latest post? She explains quite clearly the differences between Fair Isle designs, and stranded ones. She even goes a bit further to explain how even a Norwegian is different from a Faroe Island design. Yay Lorraine! There is a huge difference. Fair Isle is as unique a colourwork style as an Aran is to cabling.
Today's Lesson

"Gandalf, you must learn that just because you are "cat", you are unique."

"Yes, Sensei."

"Your manner is different from others. You may have 4 legs, a small brain, and a tail and be called "cat", but you are "Gandalf"."

"Yes, Sensei."

"Although she is a "cat", you are not your sister Mae."

"Gross, she's a girl! I mean, yes, Sensei."

"If all cats were alike, would we be still as fascinating?"

"No, Sensei."

"That's our lesson for today. Now get off my blanket."

Atticus makes sure Gandalf learns his lessons well...

Bridge- There's very little blanket real-estate to be had.

So, you're finishing Amphora? I'll hold you to that!

Whoops! Glad you were able to get in a nap like that!

Hee hee - did Gandalf listen? May has totally taken over the top of the fridge. Poor Chaos - the Fortress of Solitude has been breached!

Gandalf is certainly trying to get the look down.

Cicely of York is a fabulous choice. I might KAL with you on that one, completely unofficialy while still WIPping the other projects.....

Lorraine gave a really clear explanation, didn't she?

Wow, that is tired to the bone! Can't wait to see Amphora photos! And Cicely of York looks like a great winter sweater, one that you'd grab for over and over. Now time to knit a blankie for the feline persuasion...they sure do look like they don't get enough attention! :)

LOLZ, get off my blanket. Can't wait to see your FO!

Atticus reminds me of a kitty we used to have. She liked sleeping on my pillow above my head at night.

Nice choice for the recovered yarn! It looks like a great project. Man, if I lived somewhere colder, I would want to knit that one. I might anyway, but we'll have to wait and see.

Cicely of York is a gorgeous sweater! I'm looking forward to seeing your progress after Amphora.

These younger cat siblings just think they can sit on anyone's blanket. What is the world coming to?

I love Cicely of York. That and Canyonville. Did you see their sale page? Which do you think has more yarn? Scalpay or Dunnad?

Wonderful! Looking forward to seeing Amphora!

Yay for catching up with some well needed sleep! The design you chose to make next, the Cicely of York, looks absolutely stunning and mind you, I can't wait to see all those progress shots!

Good nap! We both got home early yesterday and dozed off around 4:00. We were shocked to see it was 6:30 when the phone woke us up!

Cicely of York is a lovely pattern. Looking forward to seeing the finished Amphora!

how did you discovery you had fibromalygia. What symptoms did you have? What type of doctor do you see for that?

sorry for all the questions, but I'm very curious about this disease. My sister and mother have both been diagnosed with it, but I can't talk to them about it because well I'd then have to kill myself :-)

What a good cat lesson. :-)

Glad you got some rest, even if you weren't quite planning it like that. Hope you're feeling better.

Always love to read the kitties' words of wisdom.

I used this pattern right here:
http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/60453A.html And I used Lion Brand Cotton Ease. My only change was I had to use size 6 needles, but everybody knits differently. Cheap and easy, and my daughter likes it :)
